i really like how you drew the face. and just out of curiosity, what's your general process of coloring? like which layers to do you set where, which do you color first, etc? i've been wanting to learn different techniques because I don't really like how i can't decide to have a dark background after i've drawn and colored what i wanted to; i have to go with something light or else it all looks really cheesy. any suggestions?
to be honest with you i'm pretty much just experimenting haha i coloured the glowy part first and then the brown and then the green.. then i'm gunna polish it out by erasing. so basically my steps for colouring: the light source first, the actual colour of the subject and then the shadows/highlights
i like to start off with the hair or face b/c its easier for me to get a sense of the atmosphere that way.. then i just colour where i see fit ... its really random and unplanned this is why i have a lot of trouble painting b/c you have you be sooo careful with layers and stuff @_@
i've been going through your gallery a lot these days but i just don't comment xD idk why (true stalker). i promised myself that i will though. cheesy in what sense?? idk.. when it comes to bgs all i can tell you is draft it out really well or play around with it a lot :\ if you've got anything like photoshop, draft it out there first.. like try playing around with the lighting/tinting and stuff and then work your subjects into the bg. hope i've helped @_@

We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
